Some 300 members of the Canadian hydronics industry came together in Ottawa for a two-day conference in September featuring technical and business sessions, expert speakers and product showcases.
Organized by the Canadian Hydronics Council, the event’s sessions were led by some of the industry’s most respected names, including Dave Holdorf of Taco, Mechanical Business columnist and Building Knowledge Canada president Gord Cooke, Rob Waters of Solar Services and Canadian Hydronics Council chair Dave Hughes.
Keynote speaker Toby Shannan, of Canadian tech giant Spotify, told delegates that, “Customers want honesty, not perfection,” as he discussed the importance of building trust with customers, and how contractors can build that trust to improve their company’s performance. PRODUCTS A toilet fit for King Midas was stolen recently from Blenheim Palace, the birthplace of British statesman Winston Churchill and the ancestral home of the Duke of Marlborough. The 18-carat gold toilet, entitled America and valued at nearly $8 million, had been part of an exhibition by artist Maurizio Cattelan and was plumbed in and available to be used by visitors.
